13 of Nazareth is a performance poet from Virginia living with epilepsy, a dry sense of humor, and peace of mind over everything. He has been engaging audiences for over a decade with creative works geared toward the personal and collective healing process. The golden thread throughout his hip-hop infused poetry is the discovery and recognition of multi-layered connections where there is the appearance of none. 13 of Nazareth's work is underscored with spiritual references from various eastern and western religious traditions and ranges from the use of abstract imagery in the conveyance of universal concepts to the concrete, sometimes painful and horrific, aspects of our history as well as our now.
Over the course of his career 13 has published six (6) cds, won several regional and national poetry slams and his list of performances include The Julliard School, National Press Club, St. Lawrence Center of The Arts, Contemporary Art Center of Virginia, Carter Barron Amphitheater, The Tampa Improv and Blues Alley. He has also performed on BET's Lyric Cafe and appeared in "A Weigh With Words" a documentary by SNC Films about how language has been and could be used as a tool for conflict or compassion.
